Field Operations Manager

Grassperson is an award winning, full service landscape company in Lewisville, TX and we are looking for an experienced Field Operations Manager.  This will evolve in to a Senior Leadership position over time. We are entering our 20th year in business and growing at over 20% per year.  We are offering a great long-term opportunity for the right candidate.  The ideal candidate will possess a great working knowledge of Residential and Commercial Lawn Maintenance and Landscape installation.  You will be responsible for overseeing all phases of our field operations teams with direct supervision of our crew leaders. You will interface with both internal operating groups and external customers.  Training and development of our field teams will be a regular responsibility and the quality of service will be a focus area. Candidates that are fluently bilingual (English/Spanish) are preferred, though not an absolute requirement.  Must have a valid Texas Driver License with a clean driving record, be able to lift 50 lbs., like to work outdoors and be able to meet company performance standards.

Salary: $45K+ Bonuses - Depending on Experience

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Manages labor to set schedules and oversees all equipment and materials needed to accomplish production needs.
  • Ensures all work is completed in adherence to safety guidelines.  Conducts weekly safety training and inspections on job-sites.
  • Supervise employees, oversees attendance records, enforces proper uniform usage and equipment use.
  • Overall human resource management of field staff.  Includes hiring, performance management, training, coaching, mentoring, and development of staff to reach full potential for each individual and the company.  Identify and develop crew leaders.
  • Visits job sites daily, observing organization of work, identifying and resolving training issues, and taking necessary actions to ensure high quality of work.
  • Respond to customer complaints ensuring proper handling to achieve excellent customer service.
  • Maintain day-to-day knowledge of customer contracts in progress, including completion status.
  • Monitors budgeted hours versus actual hours and takes appropriate steps to ensure proper tracking is in place and performance requirements are met.
  • Communicate with customers daily
  • Utilize CRM system daily to update schedules and manage crew output
  • Safe utilization of all company equipment including trucks, lawn maintenance and landscape assets.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture or Turf Management and/or 5-10 years of direct industry relevant experience.
  • Valid Texas Driver license & Clean Driving Record
  • 5+ years of relevant landscape maintenance and installation experience
  • Knowledge of plants, grasses, and weeds
  • English & Spanish Speaking Capability
  • Communicate effectively with clients
  • Work effectively with office personnel and field team members
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Experience in landscape business management
  • Punctual, self-motivated, and able to complete tasks without immediate supervision.
  • Position requires extended work hours and flexibility in scheduling including early morning, evening, and/or weekend hours as required.
