Licensed Irrigation Technician/Licensed Irrigator

Irrigation Technicians are primarily responsible for the maintenance and repairs of the irrigation systems.

Position Duties

  • Strong customer service skills with a positive & optimistic attitude, able to build trust and value with customers and team members
  • Executes timely servicing and quality of work at all customer locations where irrigation work is done.
  • Troubleshoots irrigation systems to determine repair needs.
  • Pulls and fits piping for irrigation systems.
  • Sets sprinkler heads and valve boxes.
  • Tests irrigation systems for proper function.
  • Purchases parts required to repair or renovate irrigation systems while maintaining accurate inventory.
  • Gathers and updates historical data for each account regarding water sources, point of connection and mainline location, services performed, and parts installed.
  • Activates and deactivates irrigation systems according to seasonal priorities or pre-established schedules.
  • Partners with customers by suggesting watering schedules and tactics to reduce water usage and costs. Proposes solutions during periods of droughts or water restrictions.
  • Visits properties to evaluate all revenue generating opportunities.
  • Ability to prepare irrigation proposals based on findings.
  • Communicates with customers on a routine basis to ensure satisfaction with service and solves problems to foster a positive, long-term relationship.
  • Ensures irrigation jobs are managed within budget to meet or exceed all required financial performance metrics.
  • Adjusts irrigation schedules to maximize capacity and efficiency of work flow.
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists in solving work problems.
  • Review and monitor equipment maintenance and upkeep of vehicles.
  • Maintains well stocked company vehicle at all times and is responsible for inventory accuracy
  • Cleans up work site and ensures that customer is completely satisfied before completion of work

Position Requirements

  • Qualification: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Abilities: Ability to read, write and speak English proficiently and to read, comprehend and complete required driver forms, regulatory forms and reports. Ability to apply common sense understanding to implement oral instructions. Ability to handle standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
  • Certificates/Licenses: Must possess and maintain a valid Texas driver's license and safe driving record.  Should possess a current and valid Irrigator License or Irrigator Technician License issued by TCEQ.
  • Other Requirements: Must be familiar with computerized irrigation control systems such as the Rainbird, Hunter, and Weathermatic and all associated components.

Position Type and Expected Work Hours

This is a full-time position.  The normal working hours are Monday thru Friday, 7:00 AM until 5:00 PM.  This position may require an earlier or later start time depending on weather and schedule.  Occasional Saturdays and Holidays may be required depending on schedule and emergency situations. Grassperson is located in Lewisville, TX.

Experience:

  • Irrigation Repair: 2 years

License:

  • Driver's License
  • Irrigator License
