How Many Lawn Care Visits Do I Need?

When we visit your property we often perform more than one treatment to address multiple issues at the right times throughout the year. Watch this video to learn more about the perfect timing for lawn care tasks.

Fertilizer Treatments

How Many Fertilizer Treatments Do I Need?

Your lawn will deplete the natural resources in the soil over time. Fertilization replaces these nutrients throughout the year on a steady basis to improve color and thickness. Our program provides fertilizer on each visit throughout the year.

Broadleaf Weed Control

What is Broadleaf Weed Control?

Weeds are commonly divided into two groups, grassy and broadleaf. You probably know many broadleaf weeds like dandelions, clover, and others. These weeds emerge at different times throughout the year. Our program includes the necessary broadleaf weed control to treat these lawn invaders as they appear throughout the season.

Crabgrass Preventer

What is Pre-emergent Weed Control?

Pre-emergent weed control helps to reduce certain weeds before they emerge above the surface. This granular treatment is applied in the early spring to prevent the majority of crabgrass that will emerge in the summer months. Pre-emergent may also reduce the likelihood of a few broadleaf weeds as well. Watch this video to learn more about getting rid of weeds.

Summer Crabgrass Spray

Why Treat Crabgrass in the Summer

The first line of defense against crabgrass is a thick, healthy lawn. The second is applying a pre-emergent crabgrass control in the spring, before crabgrass appears. However, there are often areas that are prone to crabgrass breakthrough. Areas like edges and thin areas may show small plants emerging in the summer. Our program includes visits to spot-spray this breakthrough before it gets worse.

Free Service Calls

Free Service Calls

Your regularly-scheduled lawn care visits will address issues on a proactive basis. However, if you notice weeds are not effected within 10-14 days after treatment, just call our office and we can discuss a complimentary retreatment and answer any questions you may have.

Nutsedge Control

What is Nutsedge?

Nutsedge appears as a grassy weed, but is actually a "sedge". It grows very quickly, often appearing taller than your grass in just a few days after mowing. It is yellow-green in color, pulls out easily, and has a triangular stem. The best way to get rid of nutsedge is to apply a selective material throughout the spring and summer when it has emerged. Here's a picture of this weed which you'll commonly find in lawns or landscaping beds.

Preventative Grub & Insect Control

Do I Need to Treat for Grubs?

Grubs are the larvae of several types of beetles. As beetles fly about and feed in the spring and summer, they deposit eggs in the soil. Their grubs hatch out in summer and feed until the following spring (when they then turn into adult beetles). Grubs can cause major damage to lawns, eating the root system out from beneath it. However, grubs can effectively be prevented with a preventative treatment in late spring each year.

Fire Ant Control

Should I Treat for Fire Ants?

Fire Ants are common in Texas and build large mounds, often in lawn areas. These pests can cause major skin irritation and are a nuisance. Our lawn care technicians carry materials to treat these colonies if they're seen on lawns and if your program options include this service.

Core Aeration

Do I Need Core Aeration?

This treatment involves running a small machine over your lawn which extracts small cores (1/2" x 2-3") of soil and deposits them on the surface. This reduces soil compaction, improves drainage, and increases microbial activity in your soil. The cores disappear in a few weeks. This annual service is recommended for anyone wanting an above-average lawn!

Topdressing Discount

Add Topdressing

For a next-level lawn, consider adding lawn topdressing! This is one of the reasons natural professional sports turf fields look so great! We will remove excessive thatch, core aerate your lawn, and then add topdressing (mix of compost and soil) that will help improve soil and overall nutrient availability for your grass. Premier program-level customers also get a 10% discount on this added service.
