Close Up: Meet Stacy Gorsuch

Jack Moore
Feb 24, 2020 12:24:57 PM

It’s no major surprise that Stacy Gorsuch brings a smile that’s infectious and a positive attitude to work every day. She comes to the Green Industry from the hospitality industry, having managed a restaurant for five years. That attention to customer service and her bright outlook are ingrained in her.

Of course, a lot of it is also just who Stacy is. She’s a hard-working, mom of 3 who does a lot of great things for her family—and for the community at large. She’s the type of person that goes above and beyond, even when she doesn’t have to.

Stacy Gorsuch, Grassperson's Accounting & HR Manager

For all of these reasons, it’s likely also not surprising that Stacy is our longest-tenured team member here at Grassperson. She started with the company in 2006, under the previous owners, and she says she was the third employee ever hired by Grassperson.

Over the years, Stacy has done a little bit of everything including answering the phones, handling customer service, and overseeing accounting and human resources, which are her primary roles right now. As part of that, Stacy helps onboard all new hires.

We asked Stacy to share more about what her days are like at Grassperson as well as more about who she is and what she likes doing outside of work.

No Such Thing as a “Typical Day”

One of the things that Stacy likes about working at Grassperson is that there is no such thing as a typical day. Every day is a little bit different—and that keeps it interesting. But she says that there are a number of tasks that she typically handles including billing, managing financials, payroll, working with sales reps to make sure estimate pricing is accurate, and working with new hires.

“I love that there’s not an average day here,” Stacy says. “There’s always lots to do and new things that come up.”

Top-Notch Customer Service

Of course, as a service-based industry, Stacy says that customer service has to be at the top of her mind in everything that she’s doing. Whether it’s making sure that billing or estimates are getting out in a timely manner or stepping up and handling other customer service needs.

“In everything that we do, we want our customers to feel like they are getting what they are paying for,” Stacy says. “The outside of your home is the first thing that people see. So, we take a lot of pride in the fact that we are helping make peoples’ homes the best on the block.”

Love and Dedication to her Work-Family and Her Real Family

Stacy says that another thing she loves so much about Grassperson is the “family-like atmosphere.” She says that everyone truly does work together as a “team.”

“Anyone considering working here should want to be part of a team,” Stacy says. “We all work closely together.”

That sense of dedication goes home with her, too. Stacy is a mom to 3.

Stacy Gorsuch and family

“My oldest is 27 and special needs, so I do a lot around just making his daily life better,” Stacy shares. “My daughter is 23, and pitches for LSU softball. And my baby is 18 and a senior in high school. He’ll be playing baseball at the University of Mary Hardin- Baylor, next year.”

Stacy and her husband have both been coaching travel softball since their daughter was 7 and coached her all the way up through high school when they suddenly realized they had some “free time.” So, they started a travel softball team and have been using their spare time to coach and mentor community kids ever since.

“It’s been about 15 years of involvement in our local softball and baseball association,” Stacy shares. “I played myself growing up and I see what kind of impact it can have. We’re definitely a very sports-oriented family.”

Looking for Hard-Working Folks Like Stacy

Whether it’s to her family, to the community at large, or to our company, there’s no doubt that Stacy is a dedicated and hardworking person. She’s the type of person that we love to have here on the Grassperson team.

Since Stacy does help handle the new hire onboarding and knows what we are looking for in Grassperson employees, we asked her to share a few thoughts.

“Here at Grassperson, you need a really strong work ethic,” she says. “We value hard work. We also want to hire people who take a lot of pride in doing great work and providing excellent customer service to our clients.”
